Coffeehouse Cabaret
Clearly the venues that host the Coffeehouse
Cabaret need to benefit. And they do. Coffeehouse Cabaret
has had significant impact on Renaissance Cafe in Toronto.
This Toronto, Danforth Ave. café has become a
vibrant hub of activity not just on the Tuesday night
Coffeehouse Cabaret but through out the rest of the
week. Why? Because it's become a happening place.
Coffeehouse Cabaret is a gathering of
many artists that share the evening in an Open Mike
/ Open Stage type of format organized by the Coffeehouse
Artist Leaders who bring in the other Coffeehouse Artist
members.
Coffeehouse Cabaret provides the avenue
from which the artists get exposure to the audiences.
The artist and the audience build their relationship.
The artist gets supported by the audience purhcases.
The audience gains cultural value from artists of their
own locality.
The venue of couse is the place where
this all comes together. It becomes the cultural centre
for the local artists and the local patrons. The venue
provides the food and refreshments shared at the event.
Most importantly, the Coffeehouse Cabaret typically
takes place on an off night of the week such as Tuesday.
Since these events fill the venue on a Tuesday night,
it's great for the venue. A side benefit is that the
cultural upliftment received by the patrons spreads
into the rest of the week building attendance on other
evenings. It's good for business.
Coffeehouse

hub for all the artists and all of the Coffeehouse Cabaret
